Planting at Ashfield Flats in Maruku
Sunday 11 July 2021: We planted this morning down at Whitfield St, in Ashfield Flats. Beautiful morning for it.
When we started planting in this patch several years ago there was just one big tree, and the ground was rock hard. Now the ground is as soft as butter to put a spade in, and the whole patch has taken off. Great to see that the marris we planted are already being used for food by black cockatoos.
And amazing how incredibly healthy the soil is... judging by the variety of fungi.
